LAST HIKE - September 2

Fifty-seven WoWWs met at Red Schoolhouse Wines in Stone Lake.   It was looking like we were going to get really wet, but after a brief drizzle we had a pleasant three mile walk around Stone Lake and Wetland Park. Red Schoolhouse fed us a wonderful lunch with plenty of dry seating, followed by yummy treats provided by Betsy Schneider, Monica Lawson and Kathy Hanson.

Sponsors: Karen Berg & Cathy Yohnk

Hike: The Brule Bog Boardwalk is a woodsy, shady hike with much of it on a boardwalk. The full hike is 4.6 miles out and back.  You may turn around at any point.  It can be buggy so bring bug spray and consider wearing long pants.  NOTE: If the boardwalk is wet & slippery we will hike the St. Croix Portage Hike which is located at the same trailhead. Hiking poles and sturdy shoes strongly suggested.

Optional Second Hike: If it is dry and we hike the Brule Boardwalk, we have the option to hike the St. Croix Portage Hike after lunch. The Portage hike is a 6 mile out and back. You may turn around at any point. Please stay and join us for a second hike. Hiking poles and sturdy shoes strongly suggested.

BONUS:  There is an artesian well at the boat landing if you want to bring containers to fill.
